Nexown Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Nexown”, “we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data: • Identity data: name, email address, phone number, government ID (for verification). • Listing data: business information, financial details, photos, and documents you upload. • Transaction data: inquiries, deal messages, offer history, and escrow records. • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and device/browser information. • Communication data: messages sent through the platform and support interactions.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to: • Operate and improve the Nexown platform. • Verify your identity and listings (Verified and Certified tiers). • Facilitate transactions between buyers and sellers. • Send transactional emails (inquiry notifications, deal updates, escrow confirmations). • Send marketing communications (with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time). • Comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
3. Data Sharing
We share your data with: • Other platform users: when you send an inquiry, your name and message are visible to the seller. When you list a business, your basic seller information is visible to interested buyers. • Service providers: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database and storage), Razorpay (payments), Resend (email). These providers process data only as instructed by Nexown. • Legal authorities: when required by law or court order. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
4. NDA-Gated Information
Financial documents and detailed business information are protected behind a digital NDA. When a buyer signs an NDA, their identity is recorded and they are contractually bound to keep the disclosed information confidential. Sellers are informed of who has accessed their gated information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a period of 5 years after account closure to comply with legal obligations. Deal records and transaction data are retained for 7 years for tax and audit purposes. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to: • Access a copy of your personal data. • Correct inaccurate personal data. • Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations). • Withdraw consent for marketing communications. • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format. 7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to operate the platform (authentication sessions, security tokens). We use analytics cookies (PostHog) to understand how users interact with the platform. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, secure authentication via Clerk, and access controls on sensitive data. Financial documents are stored in encrypted Supabase storage. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Nexown platform is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via in-app notification. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
